Board Evaluation
A structured assessment process used to measure the effectiveness of a board of directors, its committees, and individual directors. Board evaluations typically involve surveys, self-assessments, peer reviews, or third-party facilitated reviews covering areas such as meeting quality, strategic oversight, director engagement, and governance practices. Annual board evaluations are considered a best practice and are required by many corporate governance codes.
