How it works

We run your board cycle. You run the meeting.

From first reminder to last follow-up — I'mBoard handles the process that eats 2-3 days of your quarter. Here's what that looks like.

The board cycle, handled end to end.

You don't manage steps. You review outputs.

Step 1: Initiation

I'mBoard knows when your next board meeting is approaching. The cycle kicks off automatically — you don't need to remember to start collecting data.

Step 2: Outreach & collection

We reach out to your CFO, VP Sales, and team leads directly for their data. We nag them. You're only escalated if someone goes dark. You should never have to chase your own team for board materials.

Step 3: Validation

Data gets cross-referenced — between sources, against past reports, against live systems. Discrepancies get flagged and resolved with the contributor. "Revenue in the update doesn't match Stripe — which is correct?" That back-and-forth happens without you.

Step 4: Narrative & assembly

The board pack comes together — data structured into presentations, dashboards, and narrative sections. AI drafts the narrative. You review and edit. Starting from 80% done, not a blank page.

Step 5: Board review & feedback

The draft pack goes to board members for pre-meeting review. They comment, ask questions, flag concerns — through the app or through their own agents. Feedback is collected and incorporated before the meeting.

Step 6: CEO prep

Here's what feedback came in. Here's what changed since the draft. Here's where the board will push. Here's the data to back your answers. Walk in ready, not anxious.

Step 7: Meeting & follow-ups

The meeting is yours. Afterward, I'mBoard captures decisions, action items, and owners. Then we chase follow-ups — the CEO doesn't have to. Escalation only if someone is overdue.

Step 8: Scheduling

Next meeting gets scheduled using agent-based coordination — reading availability, proposing slots, managing confirmations across all participants. The loop closes and the next cycle begins.

Board cycle

What's under the hood

Three layers. One system.

I'mBoard is a board system of record, an agent interface, and a process engine — built to work together.

System of record

Meetings, documents, reports, dashboards, decisions, action items — all in one structured place. Version history, access controls, and audit trails. This is the foundation everything else runs on.

Agent interface

Three integration paths: REST API with full CRUD and 19 scoped tokens, MCP server with 66 tools, CLI with 65+ commands. Plus structured schemas and published agent recipes. Your team's agents push data in through real interfaces — not screen scraping, not email parsing.

Process engine

The cycle runs itself: initiation, outreach, collection, validation, assembly, distribution, prep, follow-ups. You step in for what requires your judgment. Everything else is handled.

Your team's agents do the busywork

Each person contributes. Their agent does the fetching.

Same workflow. No manual assembly.

The CFO still owns finance. The VP Sales still owns pipeline. The CEO still owns the narrative. What changes: their agents handle the data pull and push it into I'mBoard's structured schemas. I'mBoard assembles the rest.

CFO's agent

Pulls from Quickbooks, Xero, bank accounts. Fills the financial schema. Revenue, runway, cash position — current and validated.

VP Sales' agent

Pulls from HubSpot, Salesforce, the CRM. Fills the pipeline schema. Bookings, pipeline, win rates — no spreadsheet wrangling.

CEO's agent

Collects key updates, milestones, strategic context. Fills the narrative schema. Or the CEO writes it directly — both paths work.

What you don't need

No integrations to configure. No connectors to maintain.

Capital-efficient by design

I'mBoard defines what data it needs. Your team's agents fetch it. No integration engineering. No connector maintenance. The agent is the universal connector.

No connector marketplace

I'mBoard doesn't need to integrate with every accounting system and CRM. Your agents already have access to your systems. They push the data in.

No prompt engineering

Published agent recipes (dossiers) tell your agent exactly what data to collect, from where, in what shape, and which endpoint to call. Adopt a recipe, point it at your source, done.

No technical team required

The UI works like any board management tool. Agents are optional. Most CEOs start with the product as-is and add agent automation when they're ready.

Use cases

Who this is for

Startup CEOs

Stop spending 2-3 days per cycle on board prep. The cycle runs itself. You review the output and walk into the meeting ready.

Investors on multiple boards

Your agent reads structured data from every portfolio company on I'mBoard. Same schema, every board. No more chasing 10 CEOs for 10 different formats.

Technical founders & operators

Public API, MCP server, agent recipes. Connect your tools, automate your board workflow, and get back to building.

FAQs

Product FAQs

How does data collection work if I don't have agents set up?

You can use I'mBoard as a traditional board management tool — upload files, build board packs, schedule meetings. Agent-based data collection is an upgrade path, not a requirement.

What data sources do the agent recipes support?

Published recipes cover common sources: Quickbooks, Xero, Stripe, HubSpot, Salesforce, and more. Your agent uses the recipe to pull from your specific system and push structured data into I'mBoard. Custom sources work too — agents just need to fill the schema.

What happens during and after the board meeting?

During the meeting, capture decisions, votes, and action items in the meeting flow. After: I'mBoard tracks every action item, follows up with owners on deadlines, and escalates to the CEO only when someone is overdue. The follow-up loop runs until the next cycle begins.

Can board members use their own agents?

Yes. Board members can review materials, provide feedback, and interact with board data through the UI or through their own agents via the API. Same permissions, same access controls.

How long does it take to get set up?

Most teams are running their first board cycle within a day. Create your board, invite members, configure your meeting schedule. Agent recipes can be added incrementally — start with one contributor and expand.

Is this secure enough for board materials?

Encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.3, AES-256). Role-based access controls, personal API tokens with instant revocation, audit trails, and billing-state enforcement. See Security for details.
